Volunteers
Manchester Victim Support, Withington, needs volunteers to provide emotional
support and help to local crime victims. They are looking for people who
can spare a couple of hours a week. Full training is given and expenses
paid.

the Minehead Resource Centre, Dermot Murphy Close, Withington, alternate
Monday mornings. Issues covered include claims decisions, appeals, claims
advice etc.

Assist Neighbourhood Care Group
This group provides simple practical help for Withington and Fallowfield
residents who have no one else to turn to. For example, befriending, transport,
one-off gardening, mini day centre with lunch on a Tuesday. Assist is
based at 493 Wilmslow Rd, Withington.

Youth Club
Young people from Withington and Old Moat have been taking advantage of
a much-praised youth club. Withington Youth Club, for 1113 year
olds, is held at Withington Methodist Church and Kings Church.
Gavin White, who has been running the youth club for 18 months, said:
"On a typical Friday night there is pool, table tennis, Playstation
games, craft activities and cooking available for the teenagers to enjoy.
The club is presently attempting to raise funds for a new computer console,
music system and funds to facilitate a weekend away to the peak district."
